There is a reason why a lot of managers out there are becoming wary of our once great football club. Not only do we have the most toxic culture around Manchester United. Everyone seems to think they know better than the actual manager. What other football clubs have ex players thinking they know better and what formation we should actually be playing?
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, of course. At the same time though, there are things going on not only at the very top of the club but also around it. That’s causing the rot. Amorim had the worst percentage of win ratio. That’s a fact, but what he did do for us is give us a way of playing which was effective and we just needed the players for him to truly realize that.
Now playing devil’s advocate. Maybe the owners didn’t believe in him anymore. But they knew what formation he was going to play and what investments were needed from the beginning. They already knew, because they were on television saying they were going to invest and build for Amorim. So what changed? Ultimately, nothing. Because the club is still being run as it was three years ago. However, the incompetence is now just speaking volumes. I am of the personal belief that Manchester United will never progress unless actual real change really happens. It’s the same cycle, we blame the manager, then find out actually he wasn’t the issue.
We have a lot of talent coming through the academy and that’s one saving grace but we have a lot of players that shouldn’t even be near the first team as well. This isn’t the environment that young players want to put on the shirt either, that would want to actually play for a club to win games for this sort of ownership that deems people ‘disposable’. We’re being run like we’re a social club.
It’s a pantomime. Maybe that’s why we’re stuck in a rut. I challenge anyone with any sort of moral ambiguity who would want to help Manchester United be successful when we have people behind the scenes only wanting to line their pockets. That doesn’t actually have the best interests of Manchester United at heart, but instead, allows the football club to be run like a circus that has the whole footballing world laughing at us.
Especially with us spending billions and we are still nowhere near to recovering or being competitive in the way the fanbase wants us to be.
Something has to change, Amorim wasn’t the problem, it is however becoming apparent that a lot of people are starting to wise up to the fact that the ownership is killing this football club. It’s never been this worse and it could get much worse before it gets better.
The hierarchy at Manchester United did something they’ve done before. They went against a manager that spoke out. Amorim had that team positioned in Europe at the time. What’s essentially happened is INEOs has pressed the reset button on a guy they had initially had full faith in. Over the past couple of games other than Sesko’s contributions we’ve actually gone backwards.
