Manchester United have secured the signing of Benjamin Šeško. As we look through the team it is clear to me that we’re now building the foundations of our future team. The problem we had last season was not being able to score. That should very much now be in the past.
Ambition can only be fulfilled with hard work and as a club we’re now back to being serious again by such activity in the transfer window. Some might say, well in the past we spent money. The thing is we now have a principled way of playing through what Amorim is trying to implement. A potential team, where in the past, we were counting on individual brilliance. We’re looking at our weak areas and plugging the gaps which is allowing Amorim to work with the abilities of his new additions on really making his system work.
The backing of Amorim is now underway and there is a belief in his project and his way. The club said they had a plan and we weren’t sure what that was at the time. It really shows that patience can be a virtue. There is now a real intent to be the best of the rest and have a good season. Manchester United’s ambition has to be getting back into Europe. There is no way after this level of recruitment and reinforcements in the project where we can overlook this. For the health of the club it’s imperative. At the same time though, there is a new found belief by the fans in what we’re trying to achieve now. This wasn’t always the case.
We now have to look to take advantage of the fact we have only one game a week. We must give these new players the freedom to go and express themselves in this team. It’s going to be an integration period but we’re now building a team and the ambition to be better hasn’t ever been clearer. That’s the exciting thing about all of this.
