With the news that Bioshock is in development trouble somewhat. It’s personally a game that means a lot to me. It’s troubling to see. Kevin Levine is a master of his craft and after he left it’s not been the same. This series deserves a lot better than this. The good news is that I think they will get things back in short order. Especially when there is a Bioshock Netflix series in development.
The game will be of paramount importance to get people into the series. We all know how the Fallout TV series helped monumentally in terms of the exposure it got. This has spanned more future work into the games of Fallout even.
Could the same happen with Bioshock? Look, I think 2K knows a good series when they have one. They know how to care for their IP and they also know just how important this franchise is to gamers all over. It’s absolutely paramount they get this right because there is no series that can touch the originality of this series and what it brought with rapture.
Bioshock might be slightly under the water right now but I certainly wouldn’t count it out going on other developments around the series. That gives us some hope after a lot of troubling news around the series.
Kevin Levine left to go do his own thing and we all know ‘Judas’ is something of a spiritual successor but is a game that’s very much in its own right. Until then, Bioshock remains kinda under water to eventually reach the surface one day in the future once Judas has settled on it’s own shore.
